On October 22nd, Longi Green Energy and T Ü V Rheinland Group jointly released the "White Paper on Photovoltaic Fire Safety" (hereinafter referred to as the "White Paper") in Yancheng, Jiangsu. With the accelerated integration of photovoltaics into various industries, fire safety is no longer just a product technology issue, but also related to personnel life, building assets, and social public safety.

Adhering to its responsibility to customers, the industry, and society, LONGi collaborates with T Ü V Rheinland to conduct systematic research around four main themes: "accident costs, selection criteria, product validation, and investment returns". This research provides new ideas for photovoltaic fire safety evaluation and project decision-making, and looks forward to open sharing of research results to promote a broader safety consensus across the industry.

At the press conference, Lv Yuan, Vice President of Longi Green Energy Photovoltaic Product Management Center, officially released the "White Paper on Photovoltaic Fire Safety" on behalf of Longi, and systematically introduced the core research results of the "White Paper" around the challenges of photovoltaic safety in large-scale applications, scenario based fire prevention selection, special technology verification, and long-term investment value.

In March of this year, at the special fire protection component launch conference, Longi put forward a viewpoint: safety is "1", and benefits are the "0" behind it. Only when "1" stands firm, the "0" behind it is truly valuable. More than half a year has passed, and the practical significance of this viewpoint has become even more prominent.

According to the data from the National Energy Administration, from March to August 2026, there will be nearly 30000 new industrial and commercial distributed photovoltaic projects added nationwide, far exceeding the number of new centralized photovoltaic projects added during the same period. Photovoltaics are accelerating their integration into industrial production, commercial operations, and various building scenarios.

The White Paper proposes a "risk consequence matrix", which establishes a differentiated safety selection approach from two dimensions: fire risk and the severity of accident consequences. Conventional photovoltaic modules have mature safety performance and can meet the needs of most mainstream application scenarios. Fire safety selection is not simply a matter of judging whether components are "good or bad", but rather a more scientific match between risk levels and safety solutions in different scenarios.

T Ü V Rheinland has conducted a special fire safety assessment method to explore the risks of hot spots, electrical connection failures, key component failures, and long-term aging involved in industry accidents. The Longi Hi MO X10 special fire protection component has been used as the verification object, and special tests covering seven aspects have been implemented, providing a more comprehensive and traceable third-party testing basis for the safety capabilities of components such as fire prevention and anti spread.

The White Paper proposes a fire risk adjustment model that further considers fire risks, potential economic losses, and related safety investments on the basis of traditional investment evaluation, promoting a comprehensive evaluation of the long-term value of different safety solutions. The component cost is only a part of the project investment, but it may be the entire value of the long-term operation of the project associated with fire safety.

From the launch of special fire-resistant components in March this year to the joint release of the "Photovoltaic Fire Safety White Paper" with T Ü V Rheinland, Longi has always adhered to responding to social needs with technological progress and practicing corporate responsibility through practical actions, so that photovoltaics not only create green energy value, but also bring safe, reliable, and sustainable long-term value to society.
