On
March 10, Ningxia Baofeng Energy Group Co., LTD. (securities abbreviation:
Baofeng Energy code: 600989) released its 2021 annual report, reporting annual
revenue of 23.3 billion yuan, up 46.29% year on year. Baofeng Energy also
revealed that the company plans to increase its green hydrogen production
capacity by 300 million cubic meters per year from 2022, giving full play to
its advantages in the integration of high-end coal-based new materials industry
chain and building the world's largest green hydrogen company.
"Baofeng
Energy will focus on industrial transformation and upgrading, focus on research
and development of new technology of hydrogen production by electrolytic water
using photovoltaic new energy, explore a new model of integrated development of
new energy and modern coal chemical industry, accelerate the development
process of replacing fossil energy with new energy, and strive to become the
world's largest green hydrogen producer and supplier." Baofeng Energy
president Liu Yuanguan said.
The strength and ambition to build the
world's largest green hydrogen company
Founded
in 2005, Baofeng Energy is a pioneer in China's energy track and a leader in
high-end coal-based new materials. Baofeng Energy ranks 7th in "2021
China's Top 500 Petroleum and Chemical Listed Companies by Market Value".
Its business includes the production and sales of high-end coal-based new
materials (multiple brands of polyolefin and polyolefin modified products); Production
and sales of modern coal chemical and fine chemical products; Production and
sales of coking products (coke, crude benzene, coal tar); Coal mining, washing
and sales.
As an energy enterprise started from coal mining, Baofeng Energy has a forward-looking vision for the strategic development of hydrogen energy. As early as 2018, Baofeng Energy started to explore the road of the integration of hydrogen energy and the company's circular economy industrial chain.
At
present, Baofeng Energy has formed the world's largest production capacity of
300 million cubic meters of green hydrogen and 150 million cubic meters of

Benefiting
from the natural endowment of drought and little rain, strong light, large
temperature difference, sufficient wind power and few disasters, Ningxia is
rich in power resources such as wind and solar power. At present, the per
capita power generation in Ningxia ranks the first in China. The industrial
electricity price is relatively low, which increases Baofeng Energy's
competitiveness in green hydrogen production. Part of the green hydrogen
produced by the company will be used in chemical production, which will greatly
reduce the consumption of coal and carbon dioxide emissions; The other part
will develop in the direction of hydrogen production and energy storage,
hydrogen storage and transportation, and hydrogenation station construction, so
as to realize the integrated development of the whole hydrogen energy industry
chain.
In
terms of policies, the 14th Five-Year Plan on Climate Change of Ningxia Hui
Autonomous Region issued in January this year points out that the development
of hydrogen energy will be accelerated by relying on the national demonstration
zone of modern coal chemical industry in Ningdong Energy and Chemical Industry
Base and the chlor-alkali chemical industry foundation in Ningxia. Accelerate
the construction of renewable energy electrolytic water hydrogen production
projects such as Baofeng Energy 20000 standard cubic meters per hour, Guodian
Investment 1000 standard cubic meters per hour, Jingneng Power Generation 2000
standard cubic meters per hour, strengthen the leading role of demonstration
projects, and promote the application mode of renewable energy and hydrogen
energy integration.
Under
the support of multiple favorable conditions, Baofeng Energy took the lead in
putting forward the specific goal of achieving corporate carbon neutrality.
From
2022, Baofeng Energy plans to increase green hydrogen production capacity by
300 million cubic meters each year, and reduce carbon emissions of chemical
plants by 5% each year. Baofeng Energy strives to achieve 50% carbon emission
reduction in 10 years, take the lead in achieving carbon neutrality in 20 years
by 2040, and gradually achieve the development goal of becoming the world's
largest green hydrogen producer and supplier.
Green hydrogen, "blue Ocean" of
trillion-scale market
In the
context of the global consensus on carbon neutrality, renewable and clean
energy represented by wind power and photovoltaic has been vigorously
advocated. The "green electricity + green hydrogen" mode of hydrogen
production by electrolytic water of renewable and clean energy is considered to
be the best solution for both energy utilization efficiency and zero carbon
emission.
Green
hydrogen production will be the biggest beneficiary of the development of
hydrogen energy industry in the future. According to relevant data, it is
predicted that by 2030, the total investment in the global hydrogen energy
industry chain will exceed 300 billion US dollars (about 1.901.67 billion
yuan). In the context of carbon neutrality in 2030, China's annual demand for hydrogen
energy will reach 43 million tons. In 2060, China will achieve carbon
neutrality and the annual demand for hydrogen will reach 130 million tons, of
which the scale of hydrogen produced from renewable energy (green hydrogen) is
expected to reach 100 million tons.
The strong market potential has attracted large energy enterprises and photovoltaic giants to enter the green hydrogen industry. According to statistics from GGII, China will invest in 23 new hydrogen production projects in 2020, including 7 green hydrogen projects (accounting for 30%). At the
same time, policy support is strengthening around the world, with 30 countries
introducing hydrogen strategies that pledge to increase installed clean
hydrogen capacity 400-fold over 2020 levels this decade and support a 50-fold
increase in the average annual rate of new green hydrogen.
China's
white paper "China's Energy Development in the New Era" also
highlights the proposal to accelerate the development of hydrogen energy
industry chain technology and equipment such as green hydrogen production,
storage and use, promote the development of hydrogen fuel cell technology chain
and hydrogen fuel cell vehicle industry chain, support multi-scenario energy
storage applications in all energy links, and promote the complementary
development of energy storage and renewable energy.
In
terms of standards, at the beginning of last year, the Standards and Evaluation
of Low hydrocarbon, Clean Hydrogen and Renewable Energy Hydrogen was officially
released and implemented. The standards set up quantitative standards and
evaluation systems for low hydrocarbon, clean hydrogen and renewable hydrogen
certification projects in Europe based on natural gas hydrogen production
process, and guided the transformation of high carbon emission hydrogen
production process to green hydrogen production process.
In a word, green hydrogen has become a key breakthrough point to achieve global net zero emissions, and the trillion-scale green hydrogen market is opening up. 打造全球最大绿氢公司的实力与野心

绿氢,万亿级市场 “蓝海”

与此同时,全球各地的政策支持正在加强,30个国家出台了氢战略,承诺在这十年中将清洁氢的装机容量较2020年增加400倍,并支持将每年平均新建绿氢的速度提高50倍。
我国在《新时代的中国能源发展》白皮书中也明确突出,提出加速发展绿氢制、储、用等氢能产业链技术装备,促进氢能燃料电池技术链、氢燃料电池汽车产业链发展,支持能源各环节多场景储能应用,着力推进储能与可再生能源互补发展。
在标准方面,去年初,《低碳氢、清洁氢与可再生能源氢的标准与评价》正式发布实施,该标准对标欧洲依托天然气制氢工艺为基础推行的绿色氢认证项目,建立了低碳氢、清洁氢和可再生氢的量化标准及评价体系,引导高碳排放制氢工艺向绿色制氢工艺转变。
