In August 2021, the "Delta" virus struck, and the suspension button was pressed again in Jingmen City, Hubei Province. The process of the 15th Jinfeng Project in Jingmen City was lagging behind. As of August 26, there were still some students who had not found sponsors.

Professor Xu Kaihua, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of GEM, was concerned about students with difficulties and decided to provide financial support to 28 self-improvement students in Jingmen City, with an annual grant of 5000 yuan per person and a one-time subsidy of 4 years.

On September 2, GEM's annual golden autumn student aid activity for employees of the company was also successfully completed, and the grant of 100,000 yuan has been fully distributed to 55 children of GEM workers with difficulties who have been admitted to full-time institutions of higher learning.

It is better to teach a man to fish than to give him fish. GEM has always insisted on carrying out student aid and intellectual support as an important social responsibility, as one of the company's many measures to do good, practical and difficult things for the masses. On September 2, GEM 2021 Golden Autumn Student Assistance Activities were successively held in various parks. The company granted a total of 100,000 yuan of love grants to 55 children of workers in difficulty, and successively distributed the grants to workers in difficulty before the start of school. Adhering to the talent concept of "investing in talents and achieving talents", in 2018, GEM set up the "GEM Innovation Practice Award" in Central South University, which awards 80 innovative individuals and 10 innovative teams every year for 20 consecutive years. The award aims to reward students who have made outstanding achievements in innovative practice, encouraging students to actively carry out innovative practice activities, promoting the cultivation of innovative talents and discipline construction of Central South University, and serving the construction of an innovative country and the promotion of core competitiveness.

2021年8月，“德尔塔”病毒突袭而至，湖北省荆门市再次被按下暂停键，荆门市第十五届助自强学子圆大学梦暨金凤工程活动进程一度滞后，截至8月26日，仍有部分学子未找到资助人。

隔离疫情不隔离爱，格林美集团党委书记、董事长许开华教授心系困难学子，决定对荆门市28名自强学子提供助学支持，每人每年助学金5000元，一次性资助4年。

9月2日，格林美面向公司员工开展的一年一度的金秋助学活动也圆满完成，10万元助学金已悉数发放至55名考取全日制高等院校的格林美困难职工子女手中。

8月26日，格林美集团董事长许开华教授收到一条让人揪心的消息，突如其来的新冠肺炎疫情让荆门晚报第十五届助自强学子圆大学梦暨金凤工程活动被迫中断，眼看开学的脚步一天天迫近，大部分自强学子却还未找到资助人。

格林美荆门园区作为集团最大的产业基地，同时也是荆门市最大的民营企业，驰援“荆”城义不容辞。

许开华董事长第一时间下达指令，安排专人与荆门晚报取得联系，表达了愿意资助自强学子的想法。在详细了解了荆门晚报的助学流程及资助情况后，格林美决定资助剩余的全部28名自强学子，一次性资助4年，每人每年资助助学金5000元，总资助金额达56万元，坚决不落下一名自强学子，不放弃一个求学梦想。

9月2日，格林美2021年度金秋助学活动在各园区陆续举行，公司向55名困难职工子女发放爱心助学金共计10万元，并在开学前陆续将助学金发放至困难职工手中。各基层工会扎实做好前期的资料收集、调查摸底、复核审查等工作，集团工会审核小组严把审核关，确保每一位符合条件的职工家庭子女都能得到及时的帮助。

截至目前，格林美金秋助学活动已经走过了五个年头。五年来，公司持续为困难职工送去集团党委的关怀和集团工会的温暖，共资助困难职工子女近300人，向考取大学的困难职工子女家庭发放爱心助学金近100万元，有效缓解了他们的家庭生活压力。

通过员工绿色爱心基金会与公司层面帮扶，格林美已经形成了公司内部互助帮扶、上下联动的助学机制，把助学活动真正落到了实处，进一步擦亮格林美工会服务品牌，增强企业的凝聚力和向心力。

对广大学子的帮扶不能只停留在“扶困”，而更要在“扶智”上下一番苦功夫。秉承“投资人才、成就人才”的人才观，2018年，格林美在中南大学设立“格林美创新实践奖”，每年奖励80位创新个人和10个创新团队，连续资助20年。该奖项旨在奖励在创新实践方面有突出成绩的莘莘学子，鼓励广大学生积极进行创新实践活动，促进中南大学创新型人才的培养和学科建设，服务于创新型国家建设与核心竞争力提升。

目前，格林美已连续资助三年，每年为中南大学近百个优秀创新学子和团队奖励创新实践奖金100万，充分激发人才创新活力。
