Jinkosolar recently announced the establishment of a new research and development center in Penang, Malaysia, which is the first overseas research and development center set up by a Chinese photovoltaic company so far, and one of the largest overseas research and development centers by a Chinese company along the Belt and Road. The center is designed for Jinkosolar to develop future-oriented technologies, apply for overseas patents, and collaborate openly with industry partners and academic institutions in the R&D field.

Malay Jinkosolar R&D Center was established on July 20, 2016. It is a new organization and reasonably established inspection entity. The laboratory is engaged in the development and testing of photovoltaic modules. The testing center operates according to the requirements of IEC/ISO system. In 2018, it expanded from 700 square meters to 2,100 square meters, with more than 90% local employees. Jinkosolar hopes to build the R&D center into a key development and delivery center for global customers, effectively supporting the next step of the company's technology development strategy. As a global PV manufacturer relying on its own strong R&D strength, the R&D center in Malaysia will become an important innovation center for JinkoSolar. The R&D Center will continue to focus on developing and delivering quality products and applications for the company's various technologies and product lines.
