ChinaZ.com, May 25 (Chinaz.com) -- Huawei recently held a supplier carbon emission reduction conference, the theme of which is "green, low carbon, collaborative win-win". At the conference, Huawei focused on introducing its carbon reduction initiatives and requirements for suppliers.

It is reported that Huawei launched the supplier carbon emission reduction pilot project in 2013, with more than 100 suppliers participating in the pilot project. In 2020, Huawei began to push TOP suppliers accounting for more than 80% of the purchase amount to set carbon reduction targets and implement carbon reduction actions. In 2021, Huawei incorporated carbon emission reduction requirements into the whole supplier management process, proposed carbon emission reduction requirements for all suppliers, and encouraged leading suppliers to achieve carbon neutrality in advance.

Mr. Ying Weimin, Chief Supply Officer of Huawei, said, "Huawei has integrated environmental protection requirements into the procurement quality first strategy and the whole process of procurement business. We have identified environmental protection requirements in all aspects of the whole process, including supplier certification, selection, on-site audit and performance management. Carbon reduction is both a challenge and an opportunity for Huawei suppliers."

据悉，华为于 2013 年启动供应商碳减排试点项目， 100 余家供应商参与试点项目。 2020 年，华为开始推动占采购金额80%以上的TOP供应商制定碳减排目标并实施碳减排行动。 2021 年，华为将碳减排要求纳入供应商管理全流程，对所有供应商提出碳减排要求，鼓励领先供应商提前实现碳中和。

华为首席供应官应为民先生表示：「华为已将绿色环保要求融入采购质量优先战略及采购业务全流程，在供应商认证、选择、现场审核及绩效管理等全流程各环节中明确了绿色环保要求，碳减排对华为供应商来说既是挑战，更是机遇。」
