The Global Battery Alliance (GBA) announced that CATL has been elected to its new board of directors for a term from April 2023 to December 2024. CATL is the only Chinese company elected to the board of the Global Battery Alliance and is also a member of the alliance's supervisory committee.

Founded in 2017 by the World Economic Forum (WEF), the Global Battery Alliance is the first global battery association of its kind. The members of the Global Battery Alliance are representatives from industry, government, non-governmental organizations and academia, covering all aspects of the global battery industry chain. The Global Battery Alliance is active in battery passport, traceability system, ESG and other areas, aiming to build a sustainable, responsible and fair global battery industry chain by 2030.

In recent years, CATL has vigorously promoted its own energy conservation and carbon reduction, and actively studied the product life cycle carbon reduction, and promoted the establishment of global uniform and mutually recognized carbon footprint rules. In November this year, Ningde Times has launched the "CREDIT" value chain sustainable transparency audit plan, which is the first audit tool for lithium battery supply chain in the industry based on multiple standard system frameworks and the actual situation of the industrial chain. This election to the board of directors of the Global Battery Alliance will help CATL continue to lead the green and sustainable development of the industry, and will promote the establishment of more scientific, more reasonable and more globally representative carbon footprint rules, contributing to the sustainable development of the global battery industry.
