Recently, the first blade battery production line of BYD Xiangyang Industrial Park with a capacity of about 1.9 GWh was put into operation. It is expected that all 16 production lines will be put into operation by May 2023, which will result in a capacity of 30 GWh and can meet 600,000 vehicle assemblies, with an output value of more than 14 billion RMB and provide more than 10,000 jobs.

It is understood that the blade battery unit size produced in Xiangyang Industrial Park can be freely customized according to the model, expanding from 600mm to 2500mm with wide adaptability, and can be equipped with the whole series of BYD new energy models.

Liu Jin, the head of the comprehensive group of BYD Project Construction Command, said, "The mass production of BYD blade battery is an important representative of the technological progress of new energy vehicles. The battery has increased the volume utilization rate by more than 50% compared to the ordinary lithium iron phosphate battery, which means that the range of the battery will be increased by more than 50%, reaching the same level of the high energy density ternary lithium battery."

日前，比亚迪襄阳产业园产能约1.9GWh的第一条刀片电池生产线投产，预计到2023年5月，16条生产线将全部投产，届时将形成30GWh的产能，可满足60万辆整车装配，产值可达140亿元以上，提供就业岗位超1万个。

据了解，襄阳产业园所生产的刀片电池单体尺寸可根据车型自由定制，由600mm拓展到2500mm，适配性广，可搭载在比亚迪全系新能源车型上。

比亚迪项目建设指挥部综合组组长刘进说：“比亚迪刀片电池量产是新能源汽车科技进步的重要代表。该电池相比普通的磷酸铁锂电池，体积利用率提升了50%以上，这也就意味着电池的续航里程将提升50%以上，达到了高能量密度三元锂电池的同等水平。”
