Recently, The new book Carbon Neutrality and Green Financial Innovation, led by Zhengwei Lu, chief economist of Industrial Bank and Chief economist of Huafu Securities, reviews the development and practice of green finance. Afterwards, The Yabuli Internal Reference of the Yabuli Forum had a conversation with Political Commissary Lu to analyze the dilemma and way out of climate change and energy transition.

Political Commissar Lu: Carbon neutrality is a new issue for the world. In the past two years, I have often joked that in our lifetime, we have witnessed many once-in-a-century events, such as a once-in-a-century financial crisis and epidemic, and we have never seen carbon neutrality. For as long as human beings can remember, they have never been free from their dependence on carbon. From the ancient drilling of wood for fire to the first and second industrial Revolutions, they are all represented by the large-scale use of fossil energy. Carbon neutrality requires replacing the very foundations that underlie the existence and development of human society. No one has done this before, so we need to deepen our cognition in the process and inevitably take some detours.

鲁政委：碳中和对全球来说都是新课题。最近两年我常开玩笑说，我们短短几十年人生里，见证了很多百年一遇的事，比如百年一遇的金融危机、疫情，碳中和也是前所未见。自人类有记忆以来，从未摆脱过对碳的依赖，从远古的钻木取火，到第一次工业革命和第二次工业革命，都是以化石能源大规模使用为代表。碳中和要把人类社会存在、发展的根基全部换掉，历史上哪有过大家都没做过，没有经验，需要在过程中加深认知，也难免走一些弯路。
