Ant Group announced on April 19 that it had achieved carbon neutrality (range 1 and 2) in 2021 operating emissions as assessed by Central United (Beijing) Certification Center Co., LTD. (CEC).

In 2021, Ant Group actively promotes its own operational emission reduction in scope one and two and supply chain emission reduction in scope three, and the total carbon emission reduction in scope one, two and three amounts to 37909.87TCO2E. After the implementation of various energy-saving and emission reduction measures and the extensive use of renewable energy, Ant's annual carbon emissions from its own operations (range 1 and 2) are 23,159.54Tco2e, which are offset by the purchase of a sufficient amount of nationally certified Voluntary Emission Reduction (CCER) to achieve carbon neutrality.

In scope 1 and 2, carbon emissions are reduced through green operation practices such as energy conservation and emission reduction and efficiency optimization. Avoid carbon emissions by using renewable energy (self-built PV and purchased green electricity). The total carbon reduction in ranges 1, 2, and 3 is equivalent to the carbon emissions from driving about 15,000 petrol cars for a year (assuming that a petrol car drives about 12,000 kilometres a year and emits 0.203 kg of CO2 per kilometre).

In the third part of the area, Ant Group helped upstream data centers in the supply chain achieve carbon emission reduction of 29591.48tCO2e in 2021 through self-developed adaptive elastic capacity technology, tidal scheduling technology, off-line hybrid technology, data center OceanBase database technology and other "green computing" technologies.

In March last year, Ant unveiled its carbon neutral roadmap and pledged to be carbon neutral in operational emissions from 2021 (ranges 1, 2, 3) and net zero by 2030 (ranges 1, 2, 3). We are on track to deliver on the first promise.

Ant Group will continue to follow the carbon neutral roadmap, actively promote its own emissions reduction, while leading the upstream and downstream of the value chain to jointly implement carbon reduction initiatives, strive to achieve carbon reduction targets as early as possible, and regularly disclose progress.

2021年，蚂蚁集团积极推进范围一、二自身运营减排和范围三供应链减排，在范围一、二、三的总碳减排量达37909.87 tCO2e 。在落实各项节能减排举措、广泛使用可再生能源后，蚂蚁全年自身运营（范围一、二）碳排放量为23159.54 tCO2e，通过购买足量国家核证自愿减排量（CCER）抵销，实现碳中和。

其中，范围一、二通过节能减排、优化效率等绿色运营实践，减少碳排放1668.60 tCO2e；通过使用可再生能源（自建光伏与采购绿电），避免碳排放21883.63 tCO2e。在范围一、二、三的总碳减排量相当于约15000辆汽油小轿车行驶一年产生的碳排放（假设一辆汽油小轿车一年约行驶12000公里、行驶一公里排放0.203千克二氧化碳）。

范围三的部分，蚂蚁集团通过自研发的自适应弹性容量技术、潮汐调度技术、在离线混部技术、数据中心OceanBase数据库技术等“绿色计算”技术，2021年帮助供应链上游数据中心实现碳减排量达29591.48 tCO2e。

去年3月，蚂蚁集团公布了自己的碳中和路线图，并承诺自2021年起，实现运营排放的碳中和（范围一、二）、2030年实现净零排放（范围一、二、三）。目前，我们已如期兑现第一个承诺。

蚂蚁集团会继续沿着碳中和路线图，积极推进自身减排，同时带动价值链上下游共同实施降碳举措，力争尽早实现减碳目标，并定期披露进展。
