
On 28 March, the 2026 Zhongguancun Forum International Workshop on Green-Energy Cooperation was successfully convened at the Exhibition Center of the Zhongguancun National Innovation Demonstration Zone. The event was hosted by the People's Government of Dongcheng District, Beijing, and jointly organised by Zhongguancun Yonghe Hangxing Science Park, the International Green & Smart Energy Innovation Consortium, the Zhongguancun Smart Energy Industry Alliance, the Nordic Chapter of the Western Returned Scholars Association and other institutions.
As a key component of the 2026 Zhongguancun Forum annual meeting, the workshop closely followed the annual theme of "deep integration of technological innovation and industrial innovation," focusing on the core tasks of green low-carbon development and the energy transition. It convened forces from government, industry, academia, research and international partners, providing a high-level platform for advancing China's "dual-carbon" goals and for substantive exchange and pragmatic cooperation across the global energy-transformation agenda.

The workshop featured the concentrated release of four major science-and-technology achievements: four group standards titled "Business Continuity for Digitalised Operations of Power-Generation Enterprises"; the Kunlun Zhima intelligent coding assistant; an autonomous explosion-proof inspection robot for oil-and-gas stations; and an intelligent management-and-control platform for the coordinated development of water-wind-solar-storage multi-energy complementarity — together demonstrating the depth of technological innovation in the green-energy field.
As one of the co-organisers, Han Weiqun, General Manager of Beijing Hangxing Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd., said the park will closely follow the strategic guidance of the "15th Five-Year Plan" outline, focus on the core tasks of green low-carbon development and the energy transition, deepen the application of digital-intelligent technologies and multi-energy integration, concentrate on key pathways and on-site implementation of carbon management, and continuously advance green-transition solutions, the commercialisation of S&T outcomes and international cooperation — building a benchmark green-energy industrial park to higher standards and contributing "Hangxing's strength" to high-quality green and low-carbon development.

Strategic Agreement Signed, Three Platforms Land, and the AI + Materials Consortium
战略协议签署、三大平台落地与"人工智能 + 材料"联合体
During the workshop, the Dongcheng District government signed a strategic-cooperation agreement with Zhongguancun Development Group Co., Ltd., further strengthening the full-chain transfer-and-commercialisation service system for technological achievements across the district. In parallel, three platforms were unveiled: the Carbon Spatio-Temporal Management Innovation Center, the AI Materials Smart R&D Scenario Innovation Consortium, and the CBAM Carbon Management Integrated Service Center — providing core support for innovation in the green-energy industry.
The AI Materials Smart R&D Scenario Innovation Consortium focuses on the frontier of "AI + Materials," integrating advantageous resources across industry, academia and research and building a full-chain R&D system that uses artificial intelligence to transform traditional materials-R&D models. The consortium will undertake joint research and development around critical materials for new energy, aerospace and other strategic sectors, promoting commercialisation and industrial upgrading, and supporting the high-end, intelligent and green development of China's new-materials industry.

"Future Energy Industrial Park" Designation and Hangxing Park's Ecosystem Build-out

In a key ceremony at the workshop, Hangxing Park was formally designated as a "Future Energy Industrial Park," becoming a flagship demonstration park within Dongcheng District's green-energy sector. In recent years, Hangxing Park has continuously sharpened its leading industrial focus on "digital-intelligent energy and green energy," steadily optimising its industrial ecosystem and prioritising the introduction of high-quality enterprises in energy storage, hydrogen, the energy internet, carbon management and intelligent operation and maintenance. The park has now built a complete energy-industry ecosystem spanning technology R&D, scenario verification, market application and investment-and-financing services. Through spatial redesign, industrial-atmosphere cultivation, precise policy interfacing and coordinated resource empowerment, it has reinforced its identity as the core carrier and demonstration window for green-energy industry in Dongcheng.
On the afternoon of the same day, the Hangxing Green & Smart Energy Industry Ecosystem Forum was held at the park. The forum simultaneously launched three flagship projects: the China-Europe Green Technology Talent Innovation Port, the International Coal-to-Carbon-Neutrality Collaborative Innovation Platform, and the New-Quality Industrial Innovation Incubator — further focusing on AI-enabled green energy, the fusion of technological innovation with industrial ecosystem, and the on-the-ground integration of energy-carbon scenarios, while promoting in-depth exchange and pragmatic cooperation across the global green-smart-energy field.
