Serene moment coffee is one of the practical projects implemented by the municipal government for the people in 2024. Located on the north bank of Ningde East Lake National Wetland Park, the space is surrounded by the sea and the lake, boasting a beautiful environment. In the context of the national "dual carbon" strategic goal, Ningde Tourism Development Group adheres to the concept of technology-led green development, actively explores new models of cultural and tourism development, and strives to create a "shared by both hosts and guests" urban convenience space that embodies the "Ningde temperament". The commissioning of this project marks a solid step taken by the Tourism Development Group in building a "zero carbon convenience leisure space around East Lake".

宁时光·零碳空间是2024年市政府为民办实事项目之一。空间位于宁德东湖国家湿地公园北岸,傍海临湖,环境优美。在国家“双碳”战略目标背景下,宁德旅发坚持科技引领绿色发展理念,积极探索文化和旅游发展新模式,致力打造“主客共享”,蕴含“宁德气质”的城市便民空间。该项目投入使用,标志着旅发集团打造“环东湖零碳便民休闲空间”迈出坚实的一步。

 



"Serene moment coffee" is an innovative complex that integrates zero-carbon technology, cultural dissemination, and green living. The building adopts a two-story prefabricated structure with a total area of approximately 600 square meters. The interior space is designed with transparency to create a comfortable atmosphere. In addition to the coffee and leisure area, the store features a free reading space, displaying various books on literature, social sciences, environmental protection, and other topics for visitors to freely borrow and read, creating a social scene that combines public welfare and cultural depth. At the same time, cultural and creative products themed around local culture of Ningde are displayed and sold in the space, combining regional characteristics with low-carbon concepts to help rural revitalization and cultural inheritance.  

“宁时光·零碳空间”是一座融合零碳科技、文化传播与绿色生活的创新综合体。建筑采用两层装配式结构,总面积约600平方米,内部空间以通透设计营造舒适氛围。除咖啡休闲区外,店内专设免费阅读空间,陈列文学、社科、环保等各类书籍,供访客自由取阅,打造兼具公益性与文化厚度的社交场景。同时,空间内展示并售卖以宁德本土文化为主题的文创产品,将地域特色与低碳理念结合,助力乡村振兴与文化传承。

1. Carbon credit system: Customers can redeem coffee discounts by donating old books, participating in reading salons, and other activities, forming a closed loop of "behavior - incentive - consumption".

2. Multi-party collaboration: Collaborate with local universities and environmental protection organizations to establish a "zero-carbon alliance", carry out projects such as carbon footprint research and environmental protection course development, and enhance the depth of public participation.

Cultural empowerment and local connection: The store features a Ningde cultural and creative exhibition and sales area, showcasing carefully selected intangible cultural heritage handicrafts, She ethnic minority specialty crafts, and more, promoting the dissemination of local culture. The reading area regularly hosts book clubs, author sharing sessions, and other activities, creating a cultural hub for the community.   

3.  文化赋能与在地联结:店内设宁德文化文创展售区,精选非遗手作、畲族特色工艺品等,推动本土文化传播;阅读区定期举办读书会、作者分享等活动,打造社区文化枢纽。 

4. Smart energy management: A digital system monitors photovoltaic power generation and energy consumption in real-time, dynamically optimizing operational efficiency.

"Serene moment coffee" deeply integrates local resources and relies on the operation team of Ningde Lvfa International Travel Agency. It innovatively adopts an ecological collaborative model of "photovoltaic energy storage + degradable materials + cultural and creative consumption". The project implements Ningde's clean energy development strategy, reduces carbon emissions by 26 tons annually, receives policy support, and is included in Ningde's zero carbon cultural tourism demonstration system.

I. Implementation Plan and Process

The project follows a three-stage implementation path: "planning and design, technology integration, and operational optimization". Ningde Tourism Development Group has established a special working group to collaborate with the Architectural Design and Research Institute of Southeast University to complete the ecological design of the tree branch shape, and to integrate the LSHE photovoltaic energy storage system in cooperation with CATL. During the implementation process, modular construction technology was adopted, with 78 monocrystalline solar panels and smart energy storage cabinets installed simultaneously, and the main structure completed in 78 days. The interior space was decorated using prefabricated components, with over a hundred eco-friendly products made on-site by local craftsmen using materials such as coffee grounds and wheat straw.

项目采用"规划设计-技术集成-运营优化"三阶段实施路径。宁德市旅发集团组建专项工作组,联合东南大学建筑设计研究院完成树枝造型生态设计,与宁德时代新能源合作集成LSHE光伏储能系统。实施过程中采用模块化施工工艺,78片单晶太阳能板与智慧储能柜同步安装,78天完成主体建设。内部空间采用装配式装修,百余件环保制品由本地工匠采用咖啡渣、麦秸等材料现场制作。

 



II. Comparison before and after implementation

1. Environmental benefits: The transformation from a traditional high-energy-consumption building into a carbon-negative space has increased annual power generation from 0 to 46,000 kWh, with an annual carbon reduction of 26 tons. The carbon emissions from building materials have been reduced by 300 tons, equivalent to the carbon sequestration capacity of an additional 250 acres of forest.

2. Functional upgrade: Transforming from a single commercial space into a multifunctional complex featuring "low-carbon consumption + cultural dissemination + community services", with the addition of a public reading area and Ningde cultural and creative exhibition and sales functions, resulting in a threefold increase in customer traffic.

3. Operating Model: Lvfa International Travel Agency has integrated tourism team resources to achieve the integration of research and study team building, cultural tourism experience, and zero-carbon concept, with the monthly average number of activities undertaken increasing from 2 to 12.

3.  运营模式:旅发国际旅行社导入旅游团队资源,实现研学团建、文旅体验与零碳理念融合,月均承接活动从2场增至12场。

 

III. Challenges and Breakthroughs

1. Technical integration challenges: The integration of photovoltaic systems with building structures poses significant difficulties. Through customized support systems and BIM technology simulation for installation, a perfect combination of 201.58 square meters of solar panels with the building's curved surface was achieved.

2. Material innovation bottleneck: The strength of degradable materials is insufficient. In collaboration with the Fujian Institute of Physical Structure, Chinese Academy of Sciences, we have successfully developed bamboo fiber-reinforced composite materials and produced load-bearing tables and chairs.

三、挑战与突破

1.  技术整合挑战:光伏系统与建筑结构融合难度大,通过定制化支架系统和BIM技术模拟安装,实现201.58平方米太阳能板与建筑曲面完美结合。

2.  材料创新瓶颈:可降解材料强度不足,与中科院福建物构所合作研发竹纤维增强复合材料,成功制作承重桌椅。

 



IV. Support system

1. Technical support: CATL provides technical support for energy storage systems, while the School of Environment at Fuzhou University provides support for carbon footprint calculation.

2.  Social participation: Co-constructing an internship base with Ningde Normal School to cultivate talents in zero-carbon technology; introducing children's environmental education courses by JST institutions; the donation rate of used books by local residents reached 73%.

V. Achievement Evaluation

The project won the first prize for green building innovation in Fujian Province in 2024 and was included in the key cases of Ningde City's dual-carbon action. The user satisfaction rate reached 96%, and the enterprise team-building repurchase rate was 82%.
