At the "2026 China ESG Gala" hosted by China Media Group and broadcast on CCTV's finance channel, Sinopec was honoured as a "Role-Model Enterprise of the Year," showcasing the new face and sense of responsibility of central state-owned enterprises in the ESG arena. The company has actively embraced the energy transition by cleaning up fossil energy, scaling up clean energy and decarbonising production: it has sharply increased the share of integrated refuelling-and-charging stations, built a cumulative 141,000 EV charging terminals and 150 hydrogen stations, successfully completed the maiden test-flight refuelling of a domestically built large aircraft with home-grown bio-jet fuel, implemented nearly 2,400 energy-efficiency projects saving about 4 million tonnes of standard coal, brought online China's first megatonne-scale CCUS project, and built the country's first 10,000-tonne continuous waste-plastic pyrolysis industrial demonstration project. On the social side, oil-gas and key-commodity supply security has been reliable; rural-revitalisation initiatives such as the "one county, one industrial chain" programme have been widely praised; and the "Sinopec Lifeline Express" health train brings sight back to roughly 3,000 cataract patients from disadvantaged regions every year.

Hou Qijun said that going forward Sinopec will vigorously implement six strategies — innovation-driven development, transformation and upgrading, resource security, market expansion, cost leadership and open cooperation — while strengthening ESG management to serve high-quality economic and social development. During the 15th Five-Year Plan, Sinopec will capture, utilise and store more than 6 million tonnes of CO₂, build up green-hydrogen production capacity of 170,000 tonnes per year, expand geothermal-heating capacity to over 220 million square metres, and roll out more integrated refuelling-and-charging stations, working with stakeholders to advance sustainable development.

侯启军表示，下一步，公司将大力实施创新驱动、转型升级、资源保障、市场开拓、成本领先、开放合作六大战略，不断强化ESG管治，积极服务经济社会高质量发展。"十五五"期间，中国石化将捕集、利用、封存二氧化碳600万吨以上，建成17万吨绿氢年产能，地热供暖能力达到2.2亿平方米以上，建设更多综合加能站，与利益相关方携手推动可持续发展。
