Project Overview

Located within the North Parking Lot for Sanitation Facilities in Rongdong District, the EnvironmentalEducation Exhibition Center is a specialized education venue of Xiongan New Area for conducting sanitation science popularization and promoting zerowaste concepts to the public.

With the continuous advancement of the ZeroWaste City initiative in Xiongan New Area, there is a growing public demand among residents as well as teachers and students for knowledge concerning waste classification, waste disposal and green lowcarbon development. In the past, achievements of the New Area’s zerowaste construction were mainly reflected in engineering implementation. There was a lack of fixed, visual and scenariobased sciencepopularization venues open to the general public. Few channels were available for the public to directly learn about the whole process of waste collectiontransportation, classified disposal, harmless treatment and resource utilization. Environmental education activities were in relatively monotonous forms, and public participation needed to be improved.

Meanwhile, studytour demands from local kindergartens, primary and secondary schools, as well as universities in the capital, have increased year by year. To make up for shortcomings in ecological science education within the district, our organization built this environmentaleducation exhibition center by utilizing existing space of the station. Five themed exhibition zones are arranged to systematically demonstrate the achievements of Xiongan’s ZeroWaste City construction. It serves as an ecological civilization popularscience venue available for visiting, learning and experiencing, so as to comprehensively raise the public’s awareness of environmental protection and green development.

容东环卫设施北停车场环教展示中心坐落于容东片区环卫设施北停车场内，是新区面向社会公众开展环卫科普、无废理念宣传的专业化教育阵地。

随着雄安新区无废城市建设持续深化，社会公众、在校师生对垃圾分类、垃圾处置、绿色低碳理念的认知需求不断提升。以往新区无废建设成果多集中在工程落地层面，缺少面向大众、可视化、场景化的固定科普宣教阵地，群众直观了解垃圾收运、分类处置、无害化处理、资源化利用全过程的渠道较少，环保宣教形式单一，公众参与度有待提升。

同时，新区幼儿园、中小学及首都高校研学参观需求逐年递增。为补齐片区生态宣教短板，我单位依托现有场站空间打造环教展示中心，设置五大主题展区，系统展示新区无废城市建设成果，打造可参观、可学习、可体验的生态文明科普阵地，全面提升全民绿色环保意识。

Project Implementation

The Rongdong Sanitation Facility North Parking Lot Environmental Education Exhibition Center was officially opened to the public in March 2023. Relying on the existing space of the Rongdong Sanitation Facility North Parking Lot, the project focuses on "revitalizing existing station resources, building a zero‑waste science‑popularization base and popularizing green and low‑carbon concepts". Through space operation optimization, deployment of educational content, scenario display upgrading and regular research‑study operation, a standardized zero‑waste city publicity and education base has been established. The exhibition center is divided into five exhibition zones, covering five major themes: an overview of Xiongan New Area, solid waste resource utilization, key projects of "Zero‑Waste Cells", refined solid waste management, and science‑popularization education. It comprehensively presents the achievements of Xiongan New Area in building a zero‑waste city. In September 2023, the venue was awarded the honorary title of "Zero‑Waste City Publicity and Education Base" by Xiongan New Area.

In the early stage of project implementation, staff sorted out and optimized the exhibition area as a whole, and planned exhibition zones, visiting routes and science‑popularization explanation points in a unified manner. Centering on the contents of the five exhibition zones, graphic display boards, process demonstrations and achievement introductions were produced, translating abstract environmental governance work into intuitive, easy‑to‑understand and visual on‑site displays.

After the venue was put into operation, the project focused on public participation and youth research‑study advocacy, and established a long‑term mechanism featuring regular opening to the public, dedicated guides and group‑by‑group visits. The base regularly organizes research‑study activities for kindergartens, primary and secondary schools in Xiongan New Area. Through on‑site observation, scenario‑based teaching and interactive science‑popularization, teenagers of all age groups can gain a direct understanding of the whole process of urban waste management and establish the concept of green and low‑carbon environmental protection. Meanwhile, it continuously receives social practice, research and observation activities for teachers and students from universities in the capital, fully demonstrating Xiongan New Area’s refined sanitation operation and maintenance model and the achievements of zero‑waste city construction to the outside world.

In response to problems such as non‑standardized research‑study reception procedures and inconsistent explanation contents in operation, our team continuously optimized explanation scripts, improved visiting regulations and refined reception procedures to continuously improve the quality of educational services. The whole project is led and implemented by the operation and maintenance department of our company. Leveraging the existing station carrier, the space function upgrading is completed in a low‑cost and high‑efficiency manner, and the brand of zero‑waste science‑popularization education in the new area is continuously strengthened.

本项目容东环卫设施北停车场环教展示中心于2023年3月正式对外开放，依托容东片区环卫设施北停车场现有场地空间，以“盘活现有场站资源、打造无废科普阵地、普及绿色低碳理念”为核心，通过空间运营优化、宣教内容布设、场景展示升级、常态化研学运营等方式，建成标准化无废城市宣教基地。展示中心整体划分五个展区，分别围绕雄安新区整体情况、固体废物资源化利用、“无废细胞”重点工程、固体废物精细化管理、科普宣教五大板块，全方位介绍雄安新区“无废城市”建设成效。2023年9月，该场馆获评雄安新区“无废城市宣传教育基地”荣誉称号。

项目实施前期，工作人员对展示区域进行整体梳理、规整优化，统一规划宣教展示区域、观摩行走路线、科普讲解点位。围绕五大展区内容，制作图文展板、流程展示、成果介绍等宣教内容，将抽象的环保治理工作转化为直观、易懂、可视化的实景展示。

阵地建成投用后，项目重点开展公众参与和青少年研学倡导工作，建立常态化对外开放、专人讲解、分批参观的长效机制。基地定点面向雄安新区本地幼儿园、小学、中学开展常态化研学实践活动，通过现场观摩、实景教学、互动科普，让各学段青少年直观了解城市垃圾治理全流程，树立绿色低碳环保理念。同时持续承接首都各大高校师生社会实践、课题调研、观摩交流活动，全方位对外展示雄安新区精细化环卫运维模式与无废城市建设成效。

针对运营过程中出现的研学接待流程不规范、讲解内容不统一等问题，我方持续优化讲解话术、完善参观制度、细化接待流程，不断提升宣教服务质量。项目全程由我单位运维管理部门牵头实施，依托现有场站载体，以低成本、高实效的模式完成空间功能升级，持续做大做强新区无废科普宣教品牌。

Project Outcome

The most prominent highlight of this project lies in leveraging the existing stock space of the sanitation station, with no additional land occupation, low‑cost renovation and long‑term operation. By establishing five thematic exhibition zones, it achieves in‑depth integration of urban operation‑maintenance space and ecological science‑popularization functions. It has innovatively formed an on‑site education model of "the station as a classroom and the site as teaching materials", featuring outstanding demonstration value.

First, the exhibition system is systematic and professional. Equipped with five thematic exhibition zones, the base fully presents the whole‑chain content including an overview of Xiongan New Area, solid waste resource utilization, key projects of "Zero‑Waste Cells", refined solid waste management and science‑popularization education. It fills the gap of on‑site zero‑waste science‑popularization venues in the Rongdong Area, enabling visitors to systematically grasp the whole process of modern urban solid waste governance in one stop.

Second, it features wide‑ranging science‑popularization coverage and diverse audience groups. Open to the public on a regular basis, the base serves local teenagers from kindergartens, primary schools and secondary schools. It also regularly receives teachers and students from universities in the capital for research and investigation, realizing multi‑dimensional science‑popularization coverage across all age groups, both on‑campus and off‑campus, as well as among government bodies, enterprises and schools, with continuously expanding outreach of education.

Third, it delivers remarkable operational results with a large reception volume. Since its launch in March 2023, the number of visitors to the base has kept rising. By August 2024, it had received over 2,000 visitors from the public, schools and government agencies. By the end of July 2026, the cumulative number of visitors for tours, research‑studies and investigations had exceeded 10,000, making it a key external window for Xiongan New Area to showcase its new image of urban green development.

Fourth, the model is highly replicable and promotable. Without large‑scale investment or complicated technical transformation, the project can be implemented merely through space optimization, content empowerment and regular operation. It is suitable for the upgrading and renovation of various sanitation stations and municipal public spaces across the city, with strong replicable and promotable value as well as long‑term sustainable operation capacity.

三是运营成效显著，接待体量规模大。基地自2023年3月投用以来接待量持续攀升，截至2024年8月累计接待群众、学校、机关单位等各级各类参观2000余人次；截至2026年7月底，基地累计接待各级各类参观、研学、调研人员突破万余人次，成为雄安新区展示城市绿色发展新形象的重要对外窗口。

四是模式可复制、可推广性强。项目无需大额投资与复杂技术改造，仅通过空间优化、内容赋能、常态化运营即可落地，适配全市各类环卫场站、市政公共空间升级改造，具备极强的复制推广价值与长期可持续运营能力。

By regularly publicizing zero‑waste concepts and conducting on‑site science popularization on garbage classification, the project continuously guides the public to develop good habits of green and low‑carbon living, source reduction and classified waste disposal. It drives the reduction, resource utilization and harmless treatment of domestic waste at the grassroots level, consolidates the foundation for the construction of a zero‑waste city in Xiongan New Area, and effectively contributes to the regional ecological environment improvement and green‑low‑carbon development.

Social Impacts

As an officially accredited "Zero‑Waste City Publicity and Education Base" of the New Area, the base carries out science‑popularization education via five thematic exhibition zones. As of July 2026, it has received more than 10,000 visitors in total. It regularly organizes youth research‑study activities, university exchanges and industry observation events, effectively demonstrating Xiongan’s achievements in ecological civilization construction to the outside world. Through immersive and scenario‑based science‑popularization education, it has greatly raised public environmental awareness and willingness to participate in green actions. It fosters a sound social atmosphere for all‑people joint construction of a beautiful Xiongan and shared green spaces, and serves as an excellent model for the co‑construction and sharing of green spaces in the New Area.
